What solutions might be out there that are not generic, like, for example, restoring your system back to Windows 7?. The updated driver is dated 10-07-2015, as it can be checked on the Device Manager driver, and so far, I believe is not compatible. This actually made the driver appear again, which I updated through the Device Manager (I believe this gave some stability to the webcam).Īt this point I'm very disappointed since, it seems that there isn't an HP solution out there for the camera, and I only found this link:īut is generic -and not useful-, since I'm totally unable to find a recent driver for the HP HD Webcam.

Then, I found a possible solution, which was to uninstall the HP HD Webcam, run a hardware check, and then wait for the system to install the driver that comes pre-installed.

Do not skip this step as it is very often successful in fixing USB Drivers problems. Expand Imaging device or Sound, video and game controllers. If you have checked that neither of the above are the cause of your USB problems, the next thing to do is restart your computer. Windows Key+X (Or right click on Start) Click Device Manager. I then explored other options, like updating the CyberLink YouCam directly through the website, but the installation was locked by Windows 10, it seems due to a lack of a valid signature, even though there are ways to bypass this, I decided not to do it yet. Ensure that your USB device, such as a camera or USB mouse, has adequate battery power. I updated the driver HP Webcam driver through the Device Manager, just to tell me that I had the latest driver available (which changed nothing to be honest). The things I've done so far now are: Update the CyberLink YouCam software (through HP), the camera was not working even when it was ran with the original software that came with my PC (never opened the software until I had this problem), and just today, the camera seemed stable enough to not crush the updated CyberLink YouCam program. I read a lot, and did not find a solution yet. My search for fixing this problem started. Afterwards, the camera failed again on a Google Hangout session when that happened, I started to worry. Since I updated to Windows 10, everything was working like peaches, but a couple weeks ago, I tried to use Skype, and the Webcam ceased to work, I believed it was a small problem, and ignored it.
